Liverpool is set on confirming Giovanni Leoni as their latest summer signing as the Italian has completed the main part of his medicals with the club and also finalizing terms on his contract.
Softfootball in an earlier piece, reported that the 18 year old travelled with his agent to complete the final steps with the Liverpool as all terms between the club and the player has been agreed.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, he shared an update about the deal on his official X handle. He stated that:
“Giovanni Leoni has completed main part of his medical and signs his contract as new Liverpool player!
“Exclusive detail in addition: contract will be valid until June 2031, six year deal at #LFC.
“Official announcement to follow this week.”
Leoni will join Liverpool in a deal worth £26 million plus add-ons. He made his debut for Parma last season, where he featured in 17 appearances and started 14 matches, where most was in the second half.
The 18-year-old is expected to join Liverpool’s first team straight away. Arne Slot sees Leoni as a key player that will help boost the squad’s defense. The transfer is expected to be finalized and unveiled before the end of the week.
