Paris Saint-Germain have officially omitted goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from their squad for the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham Hotspur on August 13 a decision widely seen as the clearest sign yet that his time in Paris is over.
The move follows the collapse of contract renewal talks, with Donnarumma’s current deal expiring in June 2026. PSG have already signed his successor, Lucas Chevalier from Lille, underlining their intention to move on from the Italian international.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported the rift between both parties on his official X account, claiming that the Parisians are determined to get rid of Donnarumma.
He tweeted:
“Paris Saint-Germain exclude Gigio Donnarumma from their squad for UEFA Super Cup. Donnarumma will not sign new deal at PSG, there’s no agreement and he will 100% leave the club, this summer or in 2026 as free agent. Gigio’s camp feel it’s unfair situation for the GK.”
According to sources close to Softfootball, PSG are determined to sell the 25-year-old this summer to avoid a repeat of the Kylian Mbappé scenario, when the club risked losing a star player for nothing.
Fabrizio also revealed via his official X account that the Italian goalie is definitely on his way out of the club.
He Posted:
“Gianluigi Donnarumma will leave Paris St Germain for sure, most likely this or eventually next summer. The relationship is completely broken after club decide to exclude Gigio from their squad for Super Cup. Understand Premier League is the most likely destination.”
Talks broke down after Donnarumma rejected a new salary structure proposed by sporting director Luis Campos that would have reduced his guaranteed wage in favour of performance-based incentives.
The goalkeeper is reportedly demanding a raise to €15 million per year, a figure PSG consider excessive given French tax rates.

Manchester United are currently viewed as frontrunners for his signature, but Chelsea, Manchester City, Inter Milan, Galatasaray, and Bayern Munich have all been linked.
Donnarumma’s omission from Luis Enrique’s travelling squad sends a blunt message: despite his pivotal role in last season’s quadruple-winning campaign, PSG see no future for him at the Parc des Princes.
Unless a transfer is finalised in the coming weeks, he risks spending the early months of the 2025/26 season on the sidelines.
