Bayern prepares improved offer for Luis Díaz as Liverpool brace for talks

According to Fabrizio Romano, shared on his X handle, the German club remains optimistic after their initial proposal worth around €67.5 million opened the door to direct discussions.

He wrote it as this:

“Bayern new proposal for Luis Diaz, set to be sent soon as planned since last weekend. Liverpool aware of player’s desire to leave the club and talks will continue to discuss details of the financial package with Bayern.”

Liverpool are fully aware of Díaz’s desire to leave Anfield this summer, and although no agreement has been reached, talks are progressing to determine the structure of the proposed package.

Bayern’s renewed approach is expected to include additional performance-related bonuses as part of an improved total valuation, with the club aiming to wrap up personal terms swiftly.

Díaz, 27, has not made any public statements, but internal signals indicate he is eager for the new challenge and open to personal terms that would see him commit to Bayern until 2029.

Liverpool, meanwhile, is not rushing to sanction a deal. The club still value Díaz highly and will only approve a transfer if the financial terms meet their expectations. The player remains under contract until 2027 and is considered a key part of Arne Slot’s plans should no deal be struck.

The Colombian international joined Liverpool from Porto in January 2022 and has since made 98 appearances for the Reds, scoring 24 goals. He played a central role during the club’s transition phase and remains popular among fans and staff.

Bayern, under Vincent Kompany, are aiming to strengthen their wide options ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. With Leroy Sané away to Galatasaray and Kingsley Coman frequently sidelined by injuries and Musiala out for months, Díaz is viewed as a high-level reinforcement.

Meanwhile, the services of Diaz might be unwanted at Anfield, seeing that Liverpool is in contention for Alexander Isak’s signature.
