Bayern Munich prepare fresh offer for Luis Díaz as talks with Liverpool continue – Fabrizio Romano

Bayern Munich are preparing a renewed bid for Liverpool winger Luis Díaz as they look to step up their pursuit of the Colombian international. The Bundesliga champions have made the 28-year-old their top attacking target this summer and are determined to bring him to the Allianz Arena.

Diaz’s future at Liverpool is uncertain as the player wants either a pay rise or a move away, but the Reds are not responding to either request. Despite Liverpool’s firm stance on not selling Diaz, Bayern are determined to reach an agreement and will return with an improved offer.

In case a deal for Diaz proves impossible, Bayern have added Lyon’s winger Malick Fofana to their shortlist and have already made contact to learn the conditions of a potential transfer according to transfer expert,  Fabrizio Romano.

Bayern have been keen on Diaz all summer and have now rekindled their interest. They have agreed a four-year deal in principle with Diaz on a contract that would nearly quadruple his wage packet.

Softfootball understands that Liverpool are unmoved by Luis Diaz agreeing terms with Bayern Munich as the Premier League champions have told Diaz and his camp that they are not looking to sell, but privately intermediaries believe the Colombian will be sold.

However, Softfootball is also told that Liverpool’s valuation of the player remains set at €100million (around £87million). Barcelona, who are huge admirers of Diaz, have already made it clear to the player they would not get near that figure, despite being keen on him.

As we have reported all summer, Diaz has already told Liverpool that if they don’t intend to give him a new deal, which at this point they don’t, then he wants to be sold.

Is a Díaz deal possible? That’s hard to imagine at this point. Bayern’s recent bid was already beyond their comfort zone. Furthermore, it is a risky endeavor as it is. Díaz will turn 29 this season and is only one year younger than their other left-winger, Kingsley Coman.

That’s not the sort of forward-thinking transfer the club should be conducting this window.
