Liverpool rejects Bayern’s opening bid for Luis Díaz amid player exit wish

Softfootball has gathered that Liverpool have rejected the first bid from Bayern Munich over the purchase of Luis Diaz.

According to the Athletic, the German giants tabled a proposal worth €67.5 million (£58.6m) for the Colombian international earlier this week, identifying the 28-year-old as a priority attacking target.

However, the bid was flatly rejected by the Premier League champions, who continue to insist the winger is not for sale.

Despite Liverpool’s firm stance, Díaz has communicated his desire to leave Anfield this summer. The former Porto man has just under two years left on his current deal and has shown no indication of signing an extension.

While Díaz remains an integral figure in Arne Slot’s plans for the upcoming campaign, Liverpool’s internal valuation of the forward is understood to exceed €100 million, though this figure is said to reflect accounting considerations more than a definitive asking price.

Interest in Díaz stretches beyond Bavaria, with Barcelona among several other clubs monitoring his situation. Still, Liverpool have made it clear to all suitors that the winger is not available for now.

Díaz has been a consistent performer since arriving from Porto in January 2022 for a fee up to £50 million. He played a crucial role in Liverpool’s 2024-25 Premier League title triumph, scoring 13 league goals in 36 appearances and finishing the season with 41 goals and 23 assists in 148 matches across all competitions.

Recall that Softfootball had reported the desire of another Liverpool player, Ibrahim Konate, to possibly exit from Anfield.  The France international has allegedly already informed Los Blancos of his desire to join the club on a free transfer next summer, although Liverpool could alternatively look to sell him now in a bid to recoup some cash.

According to the reports, Liverpool are prepared to offer Ibrahima Konate plus €35 million (£30.4m) in a sensational deal to bring Rodrygo to Anfield. Real Madrid are believed to be open to selling the Brazilian forward for the right price during the summer transfer window.
