Nottingham Forest has confirmed that Ola Aina has committed his long-term future to the club, signing a new three-year contract that runs until 2028, a development confirmed through Softfootball sources.
The Nigerian international initially joined Forest in July 2023 on a one-year deal following the expiry of his contract at Torino, and since then has become an integral factor for the English side, helping them to a seventh-place finish last season.
Negotiations for a longer-term agreement began last year, and as The Athletic reported, Aina has now penned fresh terms that will keep him at the City Ground for the next three seasons.

After impressing during his debut Premier League campaign, where he featured regularly as a left-back and helped Forest retain their top-flight status, the club triggered an automatic one-year extension clause in May 2024 after avoiding relegation.
Aina, now 28, played a crucial role in Nuno Espírito Santo’s defence during the 2024–25 season, switching to the right side of the backline and making 37 appearances in all competitions. His consistency contributed to a standout season for Forest, who finished seventh in the Premier League and reached the FA Cup semi-finals.
In total, Aina has made 59 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and supplying two assists. His versatility and experience have made him a valuable asset, with the club keen to reward his influence both on and off the pitch.
Forest has also been proactive in securing the futures of other key figures. Chris Wood agreed to new terms during the season, while centre-back Murillo extended his contract until 2029. Head coach Nuno Espírito Santo also committed his future to Forest in June, signing a deal through to 2028.
Softfootball had earlier reported how Nottingham Forest had acquired the services of Botafogo striker Igor Jesus ahead of the new season. The Brazilian forward penned a four-year contract at the City Ground.
The 24-year-old becomes Forest’s latest addition in the summer window, following a verbal agreement reached in June alongside his Botafogo teammates Cuiabano and Jair Cunha.
Forest’s decision to extend Aina’s stay underlines their commitment to stability and continuity as they prepare for another season of European football and Premier League competition.
