Real Madrid are reportedly keeping close tabs on Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konaté as uncertainty continues to surround his long-term future at Anfield.

The France international has entered the final stretch of his current contract, which is due to expire at the end of next season. While Liverpool have offered him a new deal, the defender is expected to delay any decision until the current campaign concludes.

Softfootball understands the Reds remain keen to tie Konaté to a long-term contract, but the 25-year-old is taking his time before committing his future.

Konaté has also attracted interest from other European giants. Although he previously admitted feeling “flattered” by reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain, fresh reports suggest the Ligue 1 champions are not actively pursuing a move for the defender.

Instead, Real Madrid are believed to have maintained their long-standing admiration for the former RB Leipzig centre-back and remain firmly in the race should he become available.

Konaté has established himself as a key figure in Arne Slot’s defence this season, and Liverpool will hope to resolve his contract situation before interest from Europe’s elite intensifies further.

For now, the defender’s future remains undecided, with a final decision expected after the end of the campaign.
