Falconets defender Shukurat Oladipo has completed a permanent transfer to Italian giants AS Roma, marking a major step forward in her young football career.
The 20-year-old centre-back has signed a contract with the Serie A club that will keep her in Rome until June 30, 2027.
Oladipo joins Roma from Nigeria Women’s Football League side FC Robo Queens, where she established herself as an important player and gained valuable experience before making the move to European football.
The defender made an impressive 178 appearances across all competitions for FC Robo Queens, helping her develop into one of the promising young defenders in Nigerian women’s football.
Her performances at club level also earned her a place in Nigeria’s Falconets squad for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
Oladipo featured in all four matches played by the Falconets at the tournament, gaining valuable international experience against some of the best young players in women’s football.
Her progress has also seen her make the step up to the senior national team, with the centre-back already earning two caps for the Super Falcons.
The move to AS Roma represents another important milestone in Oladipo’s development, as she now has the opportunity to continue her growth in one of Europe’s competitive women’s football environments.
She will hope to adapt quickly to her new surroundings and establish herself as an important part of the Roma squad in the coming seasons.
