Barry Ferguson has highlighted Cyriel Dessers’ dedication following the Nigerian forward’s decisive performance in Rangers’ 4-2 victory over Kilmarnock.
Softfootball reports that Dessers broke a five-match scoring slump with a brace, taking his Scottish Premiership tally to 10 for the season.
Ferguson, who recently took charge after Philippe Clement’s departure, expressed strong admiration for the striker’s contribution beyond just goals. He said:
I like Cyriel. He’s got a brilliant work ethic.
The interim boss acknowledged that Dessers can be inconsistent at times but emphasized his overall value to the team. He added:
He frustrates you at times, he lost the ball a couple of times but what he brings is a brilliant work ethic and he led the line exceptionally well and there’s a real player in there.
