Trabzonspor are reportedly preparing to renew their interest in Southampton striker Paul Onuachu.

The Turkish Super Lig club remain keen on the Nigeria international, who enjoyed a productive loan spell with them last season.

Onuachu scored 17 goals in 25 appearances during his time in Turkey, prompting Trabzonspor to make several attempts to sign him permanently.

However, the club were unable to reach an agreement with Southampton over the striker’s transfer fee.

According to reports monitored by Softfootball, the Saints initially valued the forward at €7 million before raising their demands to €10 million and eventually €15 million.

Onuachu has recently enjoyed an upturn in form under Southampton manager Ivan Juric, scoring the winning goal in the club’s 2-1 victory over Ipswich Town.

The 30-year-old was also named Man of the Match after his decisive contribution in the Premier League encounter.

With the Turkish transfer window set to close on February 11, Trabzonspor could make another attempt to bring the striker back to the club.
