Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has returned to training ahead of Konyaspor vs Trabzonspor on Saturday, 12 September 2026, offering a major boost after his recent injury scare.

During Trabzonspor’s 5–0 victory over Gençlerbirliği, Onuachu delivered a brilliant performance, scoring a first‑half brace in the 5th and 22nd minutes before hobbling off injured in the 44th minute. The 32‑year‑old was forced off with a muscle issue, prompting concern for both club and country.
Since then, Onuachu had not participated in training as Trabzonspor monitored his condition closely. However, the Nigerian forward returned to full training today, putting him back in contention for selection ahead of this weekend’s league fixture.

His recovery comes at an important time, especially for the Super Eagles, who face Madagascar later this month in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers. Onuachu’s availability will be a welcome boost as Nigeria deal with multiple injuries across the squad.
