Chelsea defender Axel Disasi has reportedly agreed personal terms with Aston Villa as the Premier League club continues its efforts to strengthen the defence this month.

Disasi has struggled for regular playing time at Stamford Bridge this season and could now be set for a move to Unai Emery’s side following the departure of Diego Carlos.

According to Softfootball, Aston Villa have identified the Frenchman as their preferred replacement for Carlos, who recently completed a €10 million transfer to Turkish club Fenerbahce.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Disasi has given the green light to a potential move after holding direct talks with Emery. He wrote:

Axel Disasi has agreed on personal terms with Aston Villa,

while noting that Chelsea and Villa must still reach a full agreement over the transfer.

Chelsea signed Disasi from Monaco for €45 million in 2023, but the defender has found opportunities limited under Enzo Maresca.

The 26-year-old has made only six Premier League appearances this season and was left out of the matchday squad on eight occasions. Chelsea’s decision to recall Trevoh Chalobah from Crystal Palace has further increased competition for places in defence and could pave the way for Disasi’s departure.
