Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola acknowledged that Paris Saint-Germain deserved their 4-2 victory after his side suffered a costly collapse in the UEFA Champions League.
City looked to be in complete control after goals from Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland established a two-goal advantage early in the second half.
However, PSG produced a remarkable comeback through Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, Joao Neves and Goncalo Ramos to claim all three points.
Softfootball gathered that Guardiola praised PSG’s quality and admitted his players were unable to cope with the intensity and attacking threat of the French champions throughout the closing stages.
The defeat leaves City’s qualification hopes hanging in the balance ahead of their final league-phase fixture against Club Brugge. Guardiola stressed that his players must now recover quickly and shift attention to upcoming domestic commitments before focusing on securing victory in their decisive European encounter.
The City boss maintained that his squad gave everything but accepted that PSG were simply the better team on the night.
