Newcastle United have confirmed via their official X handle the signing of Ewen Jaouen from Stade de Reims on a long-term contract.

Softfootball understands The announcement comes during a busy period for Newcastle, who have also confirmed that a new safe standing section will be introduced on Level 7 of St James’ Park following extensive consultations with supporter groups. While Manchester United recently confirmed the departures of Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia following the expiration of their contracts as clubs continue their summer rebuilding plans.

The highly-rated 20-year-old arrives at St. James’ Park after an impressive campaign in France, where he made 34 Ligue 2 appearances and kept 15 clean sheets. Jaouen has also earned recognition at international level, representing France Under-21.
Jaouen joined Reims in 2023 after beginning his professional career with Guingamp. He later gained valuable experience during loan spells at Rodez AF and USL Dunkerque, helping Dunkerque reach the Coupe de France semi-finals before they were eliminated by eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking after completing the move, Jaouen expressed his delight at joining the Magpies, describing the transfer as an exciting new chapter in his career.
