It is now confirmed that Ibrahima Konaté will leave Liverpool as a free agent, with no final agreement reached after months of negotiations.
According to TalkSPORT, and as Softfootball has gathered, Liverpool held advanced talks with the defender over a fresh contract, and Konaté himself had publicly confirmed in April that discussions were progressing positively. However, despite optimism from both sides, no deal was finalised, leading to his departure at the end of his contract.

This development comes at a time when Liverpool have formally communicated to Alisson Becker that they want him to stay next season, underlining the club’s determination not to lose another experienced leader this summer. Konaté’s exit therefore marks a significant shift in the defensive department.
