Newly appointed Eboboritse Uwejamomere has publicly shared his excitement and appreciation after being named head coach of the Nigeria national under-17 football team, Softfootball confirms.
In a message posted on his official X account and later reposted by Nigeria Football Federation (The NFF), the coach described the appointment as the fulfilment of a long-held ambition.

Uwejamomere wrote:
It’s a dream come true. Proud to become Head Coach of the Nigeria U17 Men’s National Team (The Golden Eaglets); five-time world champions. Over thirteen years of learning, patience, hard work and dedication has led to this moment…
His appointment arrives at an exciting period for Nigerian football. While the senior Nigeria national football team continue preparations for their Unity Cup title defence against Zimbabwe national football team in London, attention is also turning toward youth development.
There has already been positive momentum at junior level, with the Nigeria women’s national under-17 football team producing an emphatic 5–0 victory over Guinea in their first-leg qualifier for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

For Uwejamomere, the challenge now begins. Taking charge of one of Africa’s most decorated youth national teams brings expectation, but also an opportunity to shape the next generation of Nigerian football talent.
