Speaking to TalkSPORT, Harry Maguire has expressed shock after missing out on the England national football team official squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The defender mentioned that he was confident about being part of the squad and representing his country this summer.
This was his statement;
I am SHOCKED.
I was confident I could have played a major part this summer for my country after the season I’ve had.
I’ve been left gutted by the decision. I wish the players all the best.
Softfootball believes Maguire not being selected is a shock even to Manchester United FC fans, as the defender played a vital role in Michael Carrick’s team that qualified for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League.
Maguire however joins the likes of Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, Morgan Gibbs-White, Luke Shaw and Trent Alexander-Arnold who were all left out of the final squad list by Thomas Tuchel.
