Nigeria women’s national under-20 football team have qualified for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland despite suffering a 2-1 defeat to Malawi women’s national under-20 football team in the second leg of the qualifiers.
Softfootball gathered, The match was played at Bingu National Stadium, where Malawi pushed hard in search of a comeback after losing the first leg 2-0 in Nigeria.

Faith Chimzimu scored twice for Malawi in the 9th and 56th minutes to put the hosts ahead and increase pressure on the Nigerian side.
However, Oscar Precious scored a crucial goal for Nigeria in the 62nd minute, helping the Falconets secure a 3-2 aggregate victory and ultimately qualification for the tournament.
Nigeria will now join other top nations at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Poland from September 5 to September 26, 2026.
