Dominik Szoboszlai opened the scoring in the 25th minute, setting the tone for the comeback. Hugo Ekitike doubled the lead in the 51st minute, followed quickly by Ryan Gravenberch in the 53rd minute. Mohamed Salah sealed the dominant performance with a fourth goal in the 62nd minute.

Softfootball gathered, Liverpool showed determination and intensity throughout the match, avoiding what could have been an embarrassing situation where all Premier League teams that qualified automatically would have been eliminated by playoff teams.

Chelsea were knocked out after a 3:0 second-leg defeat, resulting in an 8:2 aggregate loss. Manchester City were also eliminated after a 2:1 loss at the Etihad, making it a 5:1 aggregate defeat. Tottenham, despite winning their return leg, were eliminated after a 5:2 first-leg loss, ending with a 7:2 aggregate scoreline.

However, the night was not without concern, as Victor Osimhen suffered an injury and was forced off in the 46th minute due to an arm issue.
