Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal has expressed belief that he can lift the Champions League with the club, describing it as one of his biggest personal ambitions moving forward.
The Spanish international, currently working his way back from an ankle injury, spoke passionately about his future at the Camp Nou while addressing the club’s official website.
Softfootball notes that Yamal reflected on both his connection with supporters and his long-term goals at the club. Speaking about his ambitions with Barcelona, Yamal said:
Very happy. I notice a lot of affection from the fans, very happy and content. I imagine myself at Barca, the club of my life. Winning all the possible titles, especially the Champions League, which every player wants to win.
The teenage forward also praised club president Joan Laporta for the support he has received during his rehabilitation, saying:
He is a very close president, who gives a lot of support, comes down to the locker room. Now I have to recover and come back, I want to return to my team and help.
Yamal has enjoyed a remarkable rise since breaking into Barcelona’s first team, establishing himself as one of Europe’s brightest young talents. The club will be hoping he returns to full fitness soon as they continue competing for major honours in both La Liga and the Champions League this season.
