West Brom Confirm Josh Maja Faces Injury Layoff

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that striker Josh Maja will spend several weeks on the sidelines after suffering a lower leg injury. The Nigerian forward, who has enjoyed an impressive campaign in the Championship, is expected to undergo surgery before beginning his rehabilitation.

The club remains optimistic that Maja will return before the end of the season despite the setback.

According to Softfootball, West Brom issued an official statement confirming the striker’s injury and wished him a speedy recovery as preparations begin for his rehabilitation programme.

The statement read:

Josh Maja is set to be out for several weeks after sustaining a lower leg injury. The 26-year-old striker will undergo surgery in the coming days before entering a period of rehabilitation. Albion hope to have Maja back in contention during the spring.

Maja has been one of West Brom’s standout performers this season, scoring 12 goals and providing two assists in 26 Championship appearances. His absence will be a significant blow to the club as they continue their push for promotion during the second half of the campaign.
