Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface has officially returned to club duties for pre‑season, becoming the first Leverkusen player to report back.
Softfootball gathered that after spending time in Nigeria on holiday, Boniface’s early arrival reflects serious commitment and a clear desire to reset his career ahead of the new campaign.

Boniface endured one of the toughest phases of his career last season. A big‑money move to Al Nassr collapsed when the Saudi club opted to sign John Duran instead. A potential switch to AC Milan also fell through after the Italian side were uncomfortable with the results of his knee medical.
He was then sent on loan to Werder Bremen, but the move did not unfold as expected. His season was disrupted by fitness issues, recurring injuries, and limited playing time. After suffering another setback, Boniface eventually underwent surgery, bringing a frustrating campaign to an early end.
Despite everything, Boniface’s mindset remains strong. His early return shows a player determined to bounce back, regain full fitness, and prove his quality once again.
Bayer Leverkusen are open to listening to suitable offers for Boniface this summer as they continue reshaping their squad. But for now, the Nigerian striker is fully focused on getting back to his best and fighting for a fresh start.
