Former Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel is reportedly in advanced negotiations to become the new head coach of the England national team.
Softfootball added that England are now moving closer to making a major decision after interim manager Lee Carsley reportedly ruled himself out of taking the job on a permanent basis.

Carsley has been in temporary charge of the Three Lions following Gareth Southgate’s departure, but reports claim he does not want to continue as England manager full-time.
The Football Association is said to have a shortlist of four managers as it searches for the right person to lead the national team into its next chapter.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly viewed as England’s dream choice, especially with his contract at City set to expire at the end of the season.
Former Chelsea manager Graham Potter and Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe have also been mentioned as possible candidates for the role.
However, Tuchel has now emerged as a serious option, with reports claiming that talks with the German coach are already at an advanced stage.
Tuchel has been out of work since leaving Bayern Munich at the end of last season.
The German manager is highly respected in English football after guiding Chelsea to Champions League success during his time at Stamford Bridge.
His tactical experience, winning mentality, and knowledge of top-level football could make him an attractive choice for England.
If appointed, Tuchel would be expected to lead a talented England squad as they continue their search for a major international trophy.
