Troost-Ekong Unveils 2025 Charity Match, Highlights Foundation’s Growing Impact

Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has announced that the 2025 edition of the Troost-Ekong Foundation (TEF) Charity Football Match will take place on June 21 in Lagos as part of the foundation’s mission to empower young Nigerians.

The Al-Kholood defender also unveiled FOUNDATIONS, a documentary showcasing TEF’s work in transforming lives through football, education and community development.

Softfootball gathered that the film is now available on YouTube and offers a closer look at the foundation’s long-term vision.

Troost-Ekong said.

It showcases the incredible potential of young people when given the right opportunities.

A major focus of the foundation remains the planned Sports and Skills Academy in Akwa Ibom State, which aims to combine elite football training with quality education and life-skills development for young Nigerians.

Troost-Ekong described the academy as a key project that will help nurture future leaders on and off the pitch.

He also revealed that proceeds from the 2025 charity match will support the academy and other TEF initiatives, adding:

It’s an opportunity for us to unite and raise vital funds to support our mission.

The annual event is expected to feature celebrities, athletes and community leaders in a celebration of football and philanthropy.
