Super Eagles Hunt Quarter-Final Glory Against Stubborn Algeria Side

Algeria and Nigeria clash on Saturday 10th january in the AFCON 2026 quarter-finals, with both sides unbeaten so far in the tournament, softfootball reported.

Algeria topped their group after winning all three matches, scoring seven goals and conceding just one, and then edged past DR Congo 1-0 in extra time. The Desert Warriors are on an 11-win run from their last 14 matches, though caution is needed as they have lost at this stage in four of their last six knockout appearances.

Nigeria, meanwhile, remain perfect in the competition, having scored 12 goals and conceded four in four games. Nigeria’s 3–1 win over Uganda to complete a perfect group stage highlights their consistency and sets a strong tone heading into this match.

The Super Eagles demolished Mozambique 4-0 in the round of 16, with Victor Osimhen scoring twice, assisted by Lookman and Akor Adams.
