Manchester United legend Lee Sharpe has expressed his admiration for Ruben Amorim’s approach to managing the Red Devils squad.
Sharpe believes the Portuguese coach has demonstrated strong people-management skills and has been honest about the problems facing the club since taking charge.
Speaking about Amorim’s leadership, Softfootball reports that Sharpe described the United boss as someone who understands how to deal with players and manage difficult situations.
The former defender also praised Amorim for being open with his squad and believes the manager has communicated his expectations clearly. He said:
I think with the manager being open and honest and a bit of a psychologist, I think he knows how to deal with people.
According to Sharpe, Amorim’s comments about players potentially leaving should not be interpreted as a criticism of their ability.
Instead, he believes the manager was simply highlighting the need for players who are willing to work hard and fully commit to his system.
Sharpe also suggested that the United players appear to have a positive relationship with Amorim despite the club’s inconsistent performances.
He believes Amorim is being realistic about United’s position and is trying to establish a system that suits the players available to him.
