Cristiano Ronaldo lifting the Saudi Pro League trophy would be one of the biggest headlines of the season, especially after the controversy that surrounded him and Al Nassr FC earlier in February 2026.
Softfootball had reported Ronaldo was dissatisfied with how the club was being run, particularly when compared to other Saudi Pro League sides backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). While rivals strengthened aggressively in the transfer window, Al Nassr’s recruitment was modest, highlighted mainly by the signing of a young Iraqi midfielder.

Earlier in the season, Al Nassr led comfortably before dropping points in a difficult two-week spell, allowing Al Hilal — who remain unbeaten, to close the gap and stay firmly in contention.
With the title race separated by just one point, Ronaldo now has the opportunity to turn early-season tension into triumph. If Al Nassr maintain their momentum, this could become one of the most dramatic finishes in Saudi Pro League history.
