Marcus Rashford has officially joined Aston Villa on loan from Manchester United until the end of the current season.
The Premier League club confirmed the arrival of the England international, bringing an end to a difficult period for the forward at Old Trafford.
According to Softfootball, Aston Villa will reportedly cover at least 75 percent of Rashford’s wages, with the figure potentially rising to 90 percent depending on the player’s performances and the team’s achievements.
Rashford expressed his gratitude to both clubs after completing the transfer and revealed that he was impressed by Villa’s football and manager Unai Emery’s ambitions. He said:
I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me but Aston Villa was an easy decision.
The 27-year-old has not featured for United since December after falling out of favour with manager Ruben Amorim. He will now hope regular football at Villa Park can help him rediscover his best form.
Villa’s involvement in European competition also provides Rashford with an opportunity to play at a high level and revive his career during the second half of the season.
