Paris Saint-Germain have submitted an official bid worth more than €40 million to Ajax for highly rated Belgian winger Mika Godts as negotiations between the clubs gather momentum.
The Ligue 1 champions are now discussing a package worth around €45 million, although Ajax continue to hold out for a fee closer to €60 million for the 21-year-old attacker.
The latest offer comes less than 48 hours after Softfootball reported that PSG had opened talks with Ajax over a potential move for Godts as part of their plans to strengthen the attacking department ahead of the new season.
Godts has already agreed personal terms with the French champions and is understood to have given the green light to the transfer, leaving the two clubs to negotiate the final transfer fee.
Paris Saint-Germain are eager to reinforce their attack amid continued speculation surrounding Bradley Barcola’s future, with Liverpool remaining strongly linked to the French international this summer. Ajax, however, are under no pressure to sell and remain determined to maximize the value of one of their most promising assets.
Despite the gap in valuation, negotiations are progressing positively, and there is growing optimism that an agreement can be reached if PSG improve their offer.
