Paris Saint-Germain will be desperate to get their Ligue 1 campaign up and running when they welcome Monaco to the Parc des Princes on Friday night.
The reigning European champions have endured a surprisingly slow start domestically, collecting just two points from their opening two matches. PSG were held to a 2-2 draw by Lille last weekend after conceding twice before producing a dramatic late comeback, with Vitinha and Marquinhos finding the net in stoppage time.
Luis Enrique’s side have now gone three Ligue 1 matches without a victory and will be determined to avoid starting the season with dropped points in three consecutive fixtures for the first time this decade.
Monaco, meanwhile, have made a perfect start under Filipe Luis. The visitors sit at the top of the table after defeating Le Havre and Marseille, while they remain one of only two Ligue 1 teams yet to concede this season.
The Principality club have also scored 10 goals across their last four matches in all competitions and could begin a league campaign with three straight victories for the first time this decade.
History should provide Monaco with further confidence, as they are unbeaten in their last two visits to the Parc des Princes. However, PSG will be eager to use home advantage to end their winless run and finally claim their first league victory of the campaign.

PSG could welcome Ousmane Dembele back into contention after the forward was rested against Lille, although his fitness will need to be assessed before kickoff. Nuno Mendes remains unavailable, with the left-back serving the final match of his suspension regardless of his injury status.
Vitinha and Marquinhos will enter the contest with confidence after both scored during PSG’s dramatic comeback against Lille. Marquinhos’ 95th-minute equaliser rescued a point for the champions and could earn him another important role at the back.
Monaco continue to deal with injury problems of their own. Takumi Minamino and Mohammed Salisu remain sidelined while recovering from cruciate ligament injuries, while Ansu Fati is also unavailable due to a calf strain.
Paris Brunner will be one of Monaco’s players to watch after scoring twice in the 2-0 victory over Marseille. Goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky has also made an impressive start, remaining one of only two Ligue 1 goalkeepers yet to concede this season.
