Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has heaped praise on Manchester United counterpart Ruben Amorim, crediting the Portuguese coach for quickly transforming the Red Devils since taking charge.

The pair are set to face each other on Thursday night in a Carabao Cup clash both sides will view as an important step toward the semi-finals during a demanding festive schedule.

Softfootball understands Postecoglou spoke highly of his opposite number’s early impact while addressing the club’s official website. He said:

Yeah look he seems to have come in and made an impact straight away. It is a club that’s always going to have noise. It’s just that kind of football club and I guess that’s as big a challenge as the actual challenge for anyone that takes over.

Postecoglou also acknowledged the tactical tweaks Amorim has already implemented, noting the resilience United have shown in recent matches. He added:

He has obviously tweaked the formation a little bit, given different players an opportunity, but as they showed at the weekend, they are pretty tough competitors still.
