Lookman earned his spot in the lineup after an outstanding campaign that saw him crowned the 2024 CAF Men’s Player of the Year, succeeding his fellow Nigerian Osimhen.

The Best XI also features several other top African talents, including Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana, Morocco defender Achraf Hakimi, Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly, DR Congo’s Chancel Mbemba and Ghana midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

The midfield positions were completed by Sofyan Amrabat, Franck Kessie and Yves Bissouma, highlighting the depth of talent across African football.

The selection further underlines Nigeria’s strong representation on the continent’s biggest football stage, with Osimhen and Lookman continuing to shine among Africa’s elite players.
