Nigeria international Francisca Ordega has officially joined Saudi Arabian Women’s Premier League club Al-Ittihad Ladies after completing a free transfer from Russian outfit CSKA Moscow.

The experienced forward signed a two-year contract after her deal with CSKA expired, marking another chapter in her successful club career across Europe, Asia and North America.

Ordega’s arrival also reunites her with fellow Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre, who currently plays for Al-Ittihad. The Nigerian duo will be expected to strengthen the club as they aim to improve their league position.

The 31-year-old leaves CSKA Moscow after an impressive spell, where she made 84 appearances, scored 29 goals and registered 20 assists. During her time in Russia, she helped the club secure the Russian Cup and the Super Cup.

Before her move to Saudi Arabia, Ordega enjoyed spells with clubs including Levante, Atletico Madrid, Washington Spirit and Shanghai Shengli, building a reputation as one of Nigeria’s most experienced female footballers.

Softfootball understands Al-Ittihad currently sit seventh in the league table and hope Ordega’s experience and attacking quality will help improve their fortunes during the remainder of the season.
