Sérgio Conceição is set to leave his role as Al‑Ittihad head coach following a mutual agreement with the club, Softfootball has gathered. The Portuguese manager is currently in discussions to finalise contractual details, after which he will be available to listen to offers from European clubs.
Softfootball understands that Conceição’s departure is strongly linked to Al‑Ittihad’s disappointing 5th‑place finish in the Saudi Pro League, a result that did not sit well with the club’s board or supporters. Expectations were significantly higher, and the failure to challenge for the title accelerated internal decisions.
At the moment, Al‑Ittihad have not named a successor, and the club is expected to begin a thorough search for a new manager immediately. The departure takes effect with immediate effect, marking the end of Conceição’s tenure in Jeddah.
