Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak has played down suggestions that his side are favourites to win the La Liga title despite moving into a strong position at the top of the standings.
Diego Simeone’s men boosted their title credentials with a crucial victory over Barcelona, a result that saw Atletico climb to the summit ahead of the Christmas break.
Softfootball understands Oblak believes there is still a long way to go in the season and insists his teammates must remain focused rather than get carried away by their current position.

Speaking via the club’s official website, the Slovenian shot-stopper said:
The League is very long. This match is not crucial. There are three points and there is still a lot at stake. It was important to win but there are two very big teams so we have to take it game by game.
Oblak also reflected on ending his long wait for a victory at Barcelona’s home ground, saying:
Since I’ve been here I’ve never won here. We’ve finally done it. It was a difficult match, but we got the three points. Let’s continue in this vein.
