Nottingham Forest via their X handle officially confirmed the departure of Craig Mulholland. Softfootball understands that Mulholland leaves his role as Head of Football Development and Talent Management to become Chief Football Officer at the Scottish Football Association.
They announced:
We can confirm Craig Mulholland has left the Club to take up the role of Chief Football Officer at the Scottish FA. We’d like to thank Craig for his contributions and wish him all the best for the future.

Mulholland joined Forest in 2023 and played a significant role during one of the most successful periods in the club’s modern history. During his time at the club, Forest achieved their highest ever Premier League finish, reached a European semi-final, and also celebrated the promotion of the women’s team to WSL2.
Widely respected within Scottish football circles, Mulholland previously spent nine years as Academy Director at Rangers FC, where he helped develop several players who progressed to international level. His latest appointment marks a return to the Scottish FA, where he previously held roles earlier in his career.

Forest thanked Mulholland for his contribution and wished him success in his new position as he prepares to oversee football development at national level in Scotland.
In other managerial news, Manchester United continue to praise the impact of manager Michael Carrick after a strong turnaround in performances, with the club recently rewarding him with a new contract running until June 2028, including an option to extend until 2029.
