Nottingham Forest moved further away from the relegation zone after a hard-fought 1–1 draw against Aston Villa at the City Ground in the Premier League, Softfootball reports.

Despite dropping points, Unai Emery insisted Villa must continue striving for excellence as they chase both UEFA Champions League qualification and UEFA Europa League success.

The result keeps Villa in control of their top-five destiny, sitting three points clear of Liverpool FC.

gman praised neco Williams:

Neck, just Neco, awesome as usual. He’s like the jewel in the Nile (Trent) that nobody sees!

Strange shape for 20mins of the game with Jesus still on the pitch and Wood. Pereira needs to learn you don’t take MGW off ever. Draw suited both teams. But the tension was palpable for us. Got to beat Burnley.

Elsewhere, Manchester City reignited the title race with a dominant 3–0 victory over Chelsea FC at Stamford Bridge. Rayan Cherki provided two assists for Nico O’Reilly and Marc Guehi, before Jérémy Doku sealed the win after a costly error from Moisés Caicedo.

Meanwhile, Roberto De Zerbi’s start at Tottenham Hotspur got off to a poor note, with a 1–0 defeat to Sunderland AFC extending Spurs’ winless run to 105 days and deepening their relegation concerns.
