Nottingham Forest have beaten off competition from several clubs in the Premier League and across Europe, and agreed a deal to sign striker Arnaud Kalimuendo from Rennes.
Softfootball understands that Forest are having a restructure in attack to build on last season’s seventh place finish. Having signed Dan Ndoye from Bologna and secured Morgan-Gibbs White to a contract extension, the English club are planning to add more firepower in attack.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported via his X account that Nottingham Forest has finalized a deal to sign Arnaud Kalimuendo. The agreement, sealed for a €31.5m transfer fee, and the Frenchman is now set to undergo his medical. His tweet reads:
“Nottingham Forest agree deal to sign Arnaud Kalimuendo from Rennes, here we go!
Understand deal is now sealed between clubs for €31.5m transfer fee. Medical next.
New striker for Nuno, coming soon.”
Nottingham will pay €31.5 million for the French forward. In the coming days. Last season, Arnaud Kalimuendo became Rennes’ top scorer, recording 17 goals and 3 assists in 33 Ligue 1 matches.
Medical is now scheduled to take place in the coming days, and the French forward will provide competition for Chris Wood, Taiwo Awoniyi and Igor Jesus heading into the new season.
Known for his pace, finishing ability, and work rate, the young attacker is considered one of the most promising French forwards of his generation. Nottingham hope his arrival will significantly strengthen their attacking options and improve their chances of success this season.
This deal comes after Forest agreed a £30m deal to sign McAtee and a £37.5m deal to sign Hutchinson this summer for their attack too.
