Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has sent an emotional message to supporters after suffering another injury setback that is expected to keep him out of action once again.
Softfootball reports the England international lasted only 12 minutes during United’s dramatic 2-1 victory over Manchester City in the Premier League before being forced off with an injury.
The latest setback ruled Mount out of the Red Devils’ Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur, adding to a frustrating spell since his arrival at Old Trafford.
Breaking his silence on Friday, Mount admitted he was devastated by the injury but vowed to remain determined throughout his recovery. Mount wrote:
Words can’t portray how devastated I’m feeling right now. You could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant.
The midfielder also reassured Manchester United supporters of his commitment to returning stronger.
United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith. I’ll continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won’t stop until that’s achieved,
he added.
