Former Nigerian international Mikel Obi has criticized Jadon Sancho for his recent lack of creativity at Chelsea.

The England winger started the season strongly but has reportedly returned to inconsistent form, failing to influence games as expected by fans and pundits alike. Softfootball notes that Mikel feels Sancho has disappeared from key moments.

Mikel expressed his disappointment on the Obi One Podcast, stating that Sancho no longer takes on defenders or creates chances effectively.

He highlighted that while early performances raised hopes, the midfielder has since gone off the grid and failed to provide the necessary spark for the team’s attacking play.

He explained his view by stating:

He’s deceived us with a couple of games. We thought we’re getting the Jadon Sancho from Dortmund, but he’s gone again. He doesn’t create chances anymore. He doesn’t help the team as much as he should be.

This highlights the growing frustration with his current output.
