Michael Carrick has shared his thoughts ahead of Manchester United’s upcoming Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion, stressing the importance of maintaining the team’s momentum until the end of the season.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference as shared on the club’s YouTube channel, Carrick confirmed there was nothing new regarding team news ahead of the encounter.
The interim manager emphasized that Manchester United’s focus remains on finishing the campaign strongly for themselves and their supporters, insisting the squad will approach the Brighton match with the same intensity and energy they have shown in recent weeks.
We are certainly conscious of the situation of the game and what’s at stake. I think we certainly got a responsibility for that. We have managed to put ourselves in a position where, we kind of are in the position we are in the league. I have said we wanted to finish strong and for ourselves as much as anything. So we are approaching the game as we would any other game.
From Carrick words, Softfootball confirmed that Casemiro played his final game for the club last week following growing reports surrounding his expected departure this summer.

When asked about the possibility of involving young academy players, Carrick revealed that there are several highly rated youngsters the club would like to give opportunities to before the season concludes.
He highlighted the importance of integrating youth talent while continuing to build for the future:
We got some really good young players that we want to try and take the next steps with and really give them the opportunity. So, hopefully that pans out in a positive way for us.
Discussing Manchester United’s long-term ambitions, Carrick stated that the club’s priority is to keep progressing steadily toward where they ultimately want to be again both domestically and in Europe.
The former midfielder also reacted to Arsenal winning the Premier League title under Mikel Arteta. Carrick congratulated Arsenal and acknowledged that their success was fully deserved after years of consistency, patience, and gradual improvement:
First of all, I want to say a huge congratulations to Arsenal and Mikeld, the players and all the staff. I think when you win the league, you win the league because you deserve it. It’s so much over such a long period of time, needs to be done well in order to win it. So they’ve really been consistent over a umber of years now and the patience and the improvements and they have had to take steps. I think they are at a stage they desrve to win it.

He praised the progress Arteta has achieved with Arsenal, noting that Manchester United are striving to return to that same level of competitiveness and sustained success in the coming years.
