Michael Carrick has signed a new deal with Manchester United until June 2028, with an option to extend to 2029, Softfootball gathered from internal sources.

Reacting to this, this was Carrick’s statement to the United fans:
Carrying the responsibility of leading our special football club fills me with immense pride.
Throughout the past five months, this group of players have shown they can reach the standards of resilience, togetherness and determination that we demand here”.
Now it’s time to move forward together again, with ambition and a clear sense of purpose”.
Man Utd and our incredible supporters deserve to be challenging for the BIGGEST honours again.
Carrick, who replaced Ruben Amorim on 13 January 2026 after his dismissal, has guided Manchester United back into the UEFA Champions League for the 2026/27 season. United finished 3rd in the Premier League, behind champions Arsenal, while securing a return to Europe’s elite competition.
