Carrick has already been confirmed to be given a permanent deal with Manchester United, as new contract is expected to be signed soon, with discussions centred around either a two-year contract with an option to extend or a direct three-year agreement.

He was able to earn this contract after qualifying Manchester United for the UEFA Champions League for the 2026/27 season, as United had missed out several times in previous years.
