Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has dismissed speculation surrounding Christopher Nkunku’s future, insisting the French forward remains an important member of his squad.
The 27-year-old has recently been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan, but the Blues boss has made it clear the club has no intention of forcing the attacker out this month.
Nkunku has struggled for regular starts this season because of competition for places, leading to reports suggesting he could seek a move elsewhere.

However, Maresca believes the situation has been exaggerated and confirmed the France international has not asked to leave Stamford Bridge.
Addressing the rumours, Maresca said:
No,
when asked if Nkunku had submitted a transfer request. He also revealed that he had not held any discussions with the player about leaving the club.
The Chelsea manager added:
We don’t need to sell, it’s just that probably someone wants to play more and so there’s a possibility that they want to leave.
Softfootball understands Chelsea remain relaxed about Nkunku’s situation as the January transfer window continues.
