Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca believes Reece James is steadily returning to his best after making progress in his recovery and fitness.
The Blues captain has endured a difficult period with injuries but has recently been working towards regaining full fitness and playing a more consistent role for the London club.
Softfootball reports that Maresca is pleased with James’ progress and believes the England international can make a significant contribution to the team. Maresca said in an interview with Chelsea’s official website said:
We are very happy that finally he is back for us.

The Italian manager described James as one of Chelsea’s best players and expressed confidence that the defender will play an important role for the team going forward.
We consider Reece to be a top player, one of the best players we have, and for sure he is going to help us from now on.
Maresca also praised the 25-year-old for improving his leadership qualities, particularly as captain of a squad that includes several young players.
He is trying to make an effort in terms of leadership. He is doing that in general – during the training sessions, in the changing room, all of the time,
the Chelsea boss added.
