Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has defended goalkeeper Robert Sanchez following the error that led to Wolverhampton Wanderers’ goal in Monday’s 3-1 Premier League defeat.
Sanchez was unable to prevent Wolves from scoring before Chelsea recovered strongly after the break to secure all three points at Stamford Bridge.
According to reports gathered by Softfootball, the Chelsea boss believes mistakes are part of football and can happen to players in every position.
Maresca, speaking to the club’s official website, insisted the goalkeeper should not be singled out for the mistake, pointing out that Sanchez has also made important saves for the team.

Maresca said.
The Italian manager also praised his team’s overall performance, noting that Chelsea had created several chances during their recent matches despite struggling to turn those opportunities into goals.
He was pleased to see his players finally find their scoring touch against Wolves, with Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Cucurella and Noni Madueke all getting on the scoresheet.
The victory ended Chelsea’s five-match winless run and moved them into fourth place in the Premier League table.
