Manchester United will look to finish their home Premier League campaign on a high when they welcome an in-form Nottingham Forest side to Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils saw their impressive scoring streak end last weekend after a frustrating goalless draw away at Sunderland. Before that result, United had scored in 23 consecutive Premier League matches, but excellent goalkeeping performances from Senne Lammens and Robin Roefs denied Michael Carrick’s men at the Stadium of Light.
Despite the setback, Manchester United remain in strong form overall, sitting third in the table and already guaranteed Champions League football next season. Carrick has made a major impression during his interim spell in charge, losing just twice in 15 matches while overseeing a four-game unbeaten run in the league.
Old Trafford has also been a reliable venue for the Red Devils, who have lost only one of their final home league games across the last 18 seasons. However, they face a Nottingham Forest side enjoying one of their best runs of the campaign.
Forest stretched their unbeaten Premier League streak to eight matches following a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United last weekend, with Elliot Andersen rescuing a point late on at the City Ground. Vitor Pereira’s side are now mathematically safe from relegation and have produced excellent away performances recently, winning their last three league matches on the road by an aggregate score of 11-1.

The visitors have already begun preparations for the trip to Manchester, sharing training images on their X media as they target another positive result. With both teams carrying momentum into the contest, Sunday’s meeting promises to be highly competitive.
Team News
Manchester United remain without defender Matthijs de Ligt, who continues to recover from a back injury. Benjamin Sesko is also doubtful after missing the draw against Sunderland because of a shin problem.

Joshua Zirkzee is expected to continue leading the attack if Sesko is unavailable once again.
Nottingham Forest are dealing with defensive concerns as Murillo and Ola Aina are both unlikely to feature due to injury problems.
Morgan Gibbs-White could still play despite recently suffering a head injury and training with a protective mask. Dan Ndoye and Ibrahim Sangare are both nearing returns to action.
