Under the leadership of Alex Ferguson, Softfootball understand United became the first English club to win the league title, domestic cup and European Cup in the same season a feat that remains one of football’s defining accomplishments.

The campaign reached its first climax in the Premier League, where United completed a dramatic final-day comeback to beat Tottenham Hotspur 2–1 and secure the title.
Days later, they added the FA Cup Final by defeating Newcastle United 2–0 thanks to goals from Teddy Sheringham and Paul Scholes.
Then came the iconic night in Barcelona. In the 1999 UEFA Champions League Final, United trailed Bayern Munich until stoppage time before Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scored in the 91st and 93rd minutes to complete one of football’s greatest comebacks.

That squad featured stars including David Beckham, Roy Keane, Ryan Giggs, Dwight Yorke and Peter Schmeichel.
The anniversary arrives as current captain Bruno Fernandes closes another standout season after winning the Premier League Playmaker award and reportedly entering discussions over improved terms at Old Trafford.
