Manchester City and Atletico Madrid will go head-to-head on Sunday as both clubs continue preparations for the 2026-27 campaign.
City enter the contest after recording their first pre-season victory under new manager Enzo Maresca, beating the K-League Stars 3-1 following a 1-1 draw and penalty defeat against Inter Milan. The Citizens will use the Atletico clash as their final warm-up before facing Arsenal in the Community Shield on August 16.
Atletico, meanwhile, are looking to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat to Manchester United in the Snapdragon Cup. Diego Simeone’s side had previously beaten Getafe 4-1 and will also face Marseille before opening their La Liga campaign against Malaga.
The Spanish club have strengthened significantly this summer, bringing in Lee Kang-in, Morten Hjulmand and Alejandro Grimaldo. Hjulmand could make his debut against City, while Kang-in is also expected to feature.
