Manchester United are reportedly preparing a bid worth more than £60 million for Bryan Mbeumo after their first offer was rejected.

The first proposal was not enough to convince Brentford to part with their influential forward, forcing United to consider whether a larger offer can secure an agreement.

Softfootball understands that Mbeumo has emerged as a major target as Manchester United look to improve their attacking options.

The Cameroon international has developed into one of Brentford’s most productive players and has attracted attention through his goals, pace and ability to operate from wide areas.

Mbeumo has been an important figure for his current club, meaning any replacement would also need to be considered before a deal is completed.

For Manchester United, the priority will be to reach an agreement without allowing the negotiations to become unnecessarily complicated.

The coming stages of the transfer window should provide a clearer indication of whether Mbeumo will make the move to Old Trafford.
